What is it all about?
That ice hockey with a stick, a puck and on skating is played – most people still know that. But what about the battle for the national championship, the play-offs and can you also promote?
The Utrecht Dragons play in the Eredivisie, but that is – in contrast to football – not the highest division, that is the Central European Hockey League in which Belgian and German clubs also play. Yet the Eredivisie in the ice hockey is also not comparable to the Kitchen Champion Division in football, the championship is not being promoted.
Also other than in football: the play-offs are not about playing in a European competition, but are the prelude to the championship. The first eight teams continue to the play-offs, number 1 plays against 8, number 2 against 7, and so on. The Utrecht Dragons became sixth and therefore play against the number 3, Eindhoven. They play one Best of Threeso two or three games. The winner goes to the semi -final, one Best of Five And the final is one Best of Seven.
