An 18-year-old man who is arrested for, among other things, preparation for terrorist crimes in Skåne and Stockholm may suffer from a serious mental disorder, shows a forensic psychiatric statement.

The man has been arrested since February 13, suspected of preparation for terrorist crimes, participation in terrorist organization, serious crime, attempted murder and preparation for serious violation of the Law on flammable and explosive goods.

A minor mental examination submitted on Friday to Stockholm District Court shows that a serious mental disorder can be suspected of the 18-year-old.

If the case goes to prosecution, he will thus probably be allowed to undergo a major forensic psychiatric examination if the court considers it proven that he has committed the alleged acts, to investigate whether he should be sentenced to prison or forensic psychiatric care.

The man who is both Syrian and Swedish citizen was arrested in the Stockholm area on February 11 after being arrested in his absence for a week.

The 18-year-old is written at an HVB home in Skåne and the preparation crime has been committed in Skåne and Stockholm County, from August 2024 until the arrest.

According to Prosecutor Henrik Olin, the murder attempt applies an event in German Eppstein on August 14 last year. Last week, a 17-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of participation in that attempted murder.

According to the Security Police, the case is linked to violent Islamist extremism.

Facial for riots

The terrorist-splashed 18-year-old was sentenced in 2023 for gross sabotage against blue light activities for six months of youth surveillance, for involvement in the Easter Copen up in the Linköping district of Skäggetorp in April 2022.

The rally broke out before the Danish right -wing extremist Rasmus Paludan would burn a Qur’an in Skäggetorp.

The man, who was 15 years old, admitted that he threw stones and destroyed police cars with others during the rally.

He is also convicted of robbery and drug offenses committed in early 2023.
