In India, at least 47 people are feared to have trapped as a result of the collapse of the glacier in the Himalayan mountain in the state of Uttarakhand, local television channels reported on Friday.
In the state of Uttarakhand in northern India, there are many of the world’s highest mountain tops.
The accident happened in the Chamol area, less than five kilometers from the popular Badrinath Hindutemppel, where hundreds of thousands of pilgrims visiting each year.
At least 57 road construction workers were trapped in the Tibetan border area, the local police told Ani.
“Of these, ten employees have been rescued and sent in a critical state to the army camp near the village of Mana,” police say.
According to an authority to the Ani, it is difficult for rescue workers to get to 47 people trapped due to heavy snowfall.
