Private schools also received an alarm about the threat to Teknikum in Växjö

On Wednesday, Växjö Municipality locked all municipal upper secondary schools following a threat to Teknikum. The threat was about “a shooting or something similar” the municipality says.

The free schools in Växjö will also receive info on the threat to the school. LBS Creative High School with about 140 students received information from Växjö municipality.

– When I got the message, I gathered staff to inform about what happened. We have locked doors daily and unauthorized persons cannot come in. We judged that we did not have to cancel the teaching, but we were particularly attentive and vigilant in the situation that prevailed yesterday, says Sari Sundberg, principal at LB’s creative high school.

“Have locked doors since the start of the school”

The Skanskagymnasiet also received information about the situation, which the head of the school, Gabriela Rieger appreciated.

– We received info via e -mail from the municipality that they closed Teknikum due to threats. It made us aware of the event, which meant we were on our toes if something was to happen, she says.

Do you have any security routines?

– We have good routines so we feel safe. We have had locked doors since the school’s start. And routines with teachers and students. No student should let anyone call in on our door phone for example, says Gabriela Rieger.

Locked the school after the threat

Procivita’s private high school with almost 500 students also tells SVT that they found out the threats through the municipality. Yesterday, the school also locked doors so that no unauthorized persons could come in.

But the school’s principal Johan Kåberg says that the school on Thursday is no longer locked.
