Jonna Sundling held the favorite print and combed home her third straight World Cup gold in the discipline.
The silver went to Norwegian Kristine Stavås Skistad, who in advance was the biggest threat to a Swedish gold. The Norwegian hung well at Sundling’s pace but had to give up at the top of the last hill and Sundling was able to defile to a gold on the rally.
Nadine Fähndrich, Switzerland, took the bronze.
Maja Dahlqvist finished fourth in the final but could never challenge for the medals.
Jonna Sundling has now won the last four championship golds in sprint, the Olympics included.
Johanna Hagström was on her way to a final place but fell in the last curve in the semi -finals.
Gold to Kläbo
On the men’s side, the gold went to the home favorite Johannes Hösflot Kläbo. Two became veteran Federico Pellegrino, Italy, while the bronze was surprisingly brought home by Lauri Vuorinen, Finland.
The best Swedish on the men’s side was Edvin indicates in a 12th place. Anger finished second in qualifying and went on time from the quarterfinals but could never challenge for a final place in its semi -finals.
The gold was Kläbo’s fourth straight in sprint.
