Linn Svahn has suffered a concussion and misses the entire World Cup.
Now SVT expert Anders Blomquist breaks the silence about the star’s heavy message.
– It is difficult to take in that she is such bad luck. I feel for her very much, he tells Sportbladet.
It was early Thursday morning that the shock message went out: Linn Svahn25, forced to leave the World Cup before it even started. The reason is that she fell into a downhill and hit her head during a workout on Wednesday. She was then hit by a concussion and she needs to recover. It is unthinkable that she could compete this week.
Linn Svahn has got a concussion
The national team’s medical team confirms that she misses today’s sprint and also the rest of the championship.
– A new case could have had purely fatal consequences if she competed on, says national team doctor Rickard Noberius on a press conference.
“We conducted repeated investigations during the day and evening and makes the assessment that she has been given a concussion, and that her symptoms are so serious that she cannot compete during the championship, but needs brain rest and recovery,” he wrote earlier in a press release.

Linn Svahn has also been unlucky with World Cup uploads in previous years. Before the World Cup 2021 in Oberstdorf, she also fell and injured her shoulder. She performed the sprint, came eleven and then went home. Because the injury was quite serious, she was forced to operate and she missed the Olympics in 2022. Even during the 2023 World Cup in Planica, she was affected by her injury.

When SVT’s ski expert Anders Blomquist was reached by the heavy message about Linn Svahn, he was shocked.
– I am very sad. Because she has worked so hard to come back but also because she is so damn bad luck, she tells Sportbladet.
