With the screed vaccination campaign for cattle between February 17 – April 13, an important step is taken especially against Brucella disease. Screed vaccination is of great importance in order to protect the health of local animal husbandry and to increase productivity.
The campaign, which was initiated for the spring term, aims to vaccinate the pups born from uncharified mothers against screed disease after 14 days of age.

This disease, which causes wounds in the mouth, nails and breasts, can cause serious losses in meat and milk yield. Especially young animals are extremely sensitive to screed disease, which can sometimes cause deaths.

Vaccines against screed disease are not only necessary to prevent diseases, but also to obtain a veterinary health report for intercity transplantation. In order to receive this report, cattle animals have been vaccinated with a screed vaccine containing SAT-2 serotype in the last 6 months and have passed since the date of vaccination for 21 days.
Brucella’s disease is a threat to farmers
Another important part of the vaccination studies is against Brucella disease. 632 cattle will be vaccinated
Within the scope of the screed and Brucella vaccination campaign initiated for 2025, a total of 632 cattle animals will be vaccinated in İliç district. This important vaccination studies are of great importance both in terms of healthy livestock in Iliç district and the prevention of animal diseases in the region.
