In the epic ensemble western of the directors Henry Hathaway, John Ford and George Marshall, from the 1830s to the 1880s is told by settlers: inside, bandits and rail pioneers in the Wild west of America. The impressive landscape shots may have inspired Costner for his later multi -part Horizon, who was also praised for his picturesque settings.
Costner continued in an interview:
When he pulled the canoe to the beach, there was a group of exotic -looking people, and I thought: ‘I’m interested in who they are. I want to live in a world in which they exist. ‘ The 70-year-old Hollywood star is currently working on the sequels of his said Western Epos Horzion, the second part of which was shown at film festivals last year and is now waiting for a regular release.
