The police are going out with a new warning for fraud. This is by no means new as the year 2024 was characterized by fraud from many different directions.
Unlike the previous warnings, the police warning this time is about gold fraud.

Warning for fraud – so they go on
The fraudsters usually call the victims and state that they call from any type of bank, the police or insurance company to gain confidence with the victim. Then the fraudsters explain that they have to secure all valuables in the home, and they are the only ones that can do it.
The telephone call is followed by a home visit where the fraudsters seize valuables in the home.

– We have seen this type of telephone fraud that is combined with a home visit for several years. There have been a bit of waves, but during the beginning of 2025 we see an increase in it.

Police: So we never do
She points out that neither the police nor any serious insurance company would go in this way to secure a person’s valuables.
Ultimately, it is the private person himself who must ensure to secure his valuables at home.
– Unfortunately, the requirement for yourself makes you secure your valuables. So this is a strong warning signal if someone claims the opposite, says Mauritzson in the program.
