Chatham-Kent’s Population Topped 111,000 AS of July 2024, a Level not seen since 2006, and Keech Said it is Forecast Nearly 3,000 Jobs will be generated by “Growth Demand” and Another 11.150 Jobs from “Replacement Demand” by 2031.

Not having an Available WorkForce A Few Years Ago Prevented the Municipality from Landing A Large Manufacturer that could have Busht About 500 Jobs to the Community, Said Mayor Darrin Canniff.
After Hearing The Municipality’s Pitch, The Company Indicated It Loved Chatham-Kent, He Said. But it added, “’we don’t believe you can provides a workforce for us,’ so they moved on,” he said.

He Said Events Are Planned to Promote Career Growth, encourages Professional Development, Local Business and Highlight the various industries in Chatham-Kent.
An Online Information Session is Being Held Tuesday at Noon on the Better Jobs Ontario Training Grant Program.
“This Will Be a Great Opportunity for Individuals to Learn More About Training Opportunities that may be available to them, potentialy at no cost,” keech said.
A Forum to explore career opportunities with the municipality is being held March 4 from noon to 1 pm at the bradley center.
