The best graphics settings for Full HD, 1440p and 4K

Monster Hunter Wilds starts on Steam and the consoles. MeinMMO tells you which the best settings for the game are and what else you should consider.

You can play Monster Hunter Wilds on the PC via Steam. But what are the best settings if you want to enjoy the game on the PC without having a high-end system? Meinmmo introduce you to the best settings and explain where you can win performance.

The best graphics settings for the PC

In the following we present the best graphics settings with which you have a stable performance as well as a pretty, graphic experience. However, note that your hardware depends on how well the game really works in the end.

Depending on the processor and graphics card, you may have to adjust certain settings again. You can read more details and tips below, where you can still improve if necessary.

The best graphics settings for the PC

Basically, you should be aware that Monster Hunter Wilds is particularly stressful for your graphics card, as most settings affect your GPU directly.

  • Resolution: Dependent on your monitor; The higher the resolution, the stronger the load for your GPU.
  • Image format: Depending on your monitor
  • Frame rate: 120, we recommend 60 for a stable frame rate
  • Unlimited frame rate: Limited
  • V-Sync: If you have a monitor with VRR, G-Sync or Freesync. Otherwise
  • graphic

  • Graphics settings: User -defined
  • Calculate: Nvidia DLSS 3, AMD FSR 3 or Intel Xess 1.3. Depending on the graphics card you choose the corresponding counterpart for your GPU
  • Frame generation: Activate
  • High scaling mode: With Nvidia graphics card “Nvidia dlaa”, otherwise “balanced”
  • Antialiasing: You can only set if you switch off DLSS, FSR and Xess. Therefore skip
  • Render scaling: 100; The higher the value, the more sharper the picture. The higher the sharpness, the higher the load on your GPU.
  • Raytracing: Low or medium
  • Texture quality: “Maximum” for graphics cards with at least 12 GB VRAM, at most on “high” at 8 GB VRAM or less
  • Texture filter quality: Medium or high
  • Ginter quality: High
  • Quality of skins: High
  • Quality sky/clouds: High
  • Quality grass and trees: Medium
  • Movement grass trees: Medium
  • Quality of the wind simulation: High
  • Quality of surfaces: Medium
  • Sand/snow quality: Medium
  • Water effects: Medium
  • Render distance: Medium, even higher if necessary. The higher the value, the higher the load because more is rendered
  • Shadow quality: Medium or high; Depends on your graphics card.
  • Quality of distant shadows: Low
  • Shadow removal: Medium
  • Quality of the ambient light: Medium
  • Contact shadow: activated
  • Environment cover: High
  • Bloom: Strong
  • Movement blur: Out of. Activate with weaker systems
  • Vignette effect: To
  • SSSS Scattering: To
  • Depth of field: To
  • Volumetric fog: Low
  • Varialbe Rate Shading: Out of. Activate to reduce rendering load for weak graphics cards
  • Our tips for better performance in Monster Hunter Wilds

You want to play Monster Hunter Wilds on your PC, but still you don’t get a stable image rate? We present you a few tips and settings on how you can save performance without the game to look ugly.

Textures: If you have a graphics card with a little video memory, such as the GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 580 (4 or 8 GB), we would recommend you to download the textures. The higher the setting, the more video memory is used. If you play on high resolutions (WQHD or higher), we also recommend that the textures regulate the textures if you do not have at least the recommended graphics card. The lower the textures are dissolved, the more washed -out surfaces.

Shadow quality: As expected, shadows eat a lot of performance, but also ensure a realistic picture. If you have performance problems, then reduce the shadows to medium or even low.

Shadow removal: The setting ensures that shadows are also displayed from a distance. As a result, the game looks atmospheric, but also eats performance. If the setting therefore places lower than higher.

Quality of the ambient light: Ensure that you can see reflections from a distance on objects. Bring atmosphere, but eats performance. A good attitude to save performance.

Movement blur: The image makes the picture blurred when moving, which makes the game look more fluid on weaker systems without being. Movement blur can primarily provide motion Sickness, so we would rather switch off the setting.

Varialbe Rate Shading: Only activate if your computer doesn’t pack the game. Because with this you can reduce the rendering load to your graphics card. That will bring you a number of percent more power.

DLSS, FSR and xess: Basically, the game runs without “fake frames”, for a much more stable frame rate we would recommend activating the upcalers. As a rule, quality is enough, you should still have problems, change performance. DLSS and FSR usually always offer you better performance than the native resolution.

A notice: Note that DLSS and FSR can cause strange mistakes. Faulty images can occur, especially with fine surfaces and faces. If you have such problems, it does not have to be defective hardware or bugs in the game, but they are probably rendering errors.

Note, however, if you activate an upcaler, the antiAliasing settings are deactivated. If you want to use your own settings for anti-aliasing, then you have to switch off the upscales (DLSS, FSR or Xess).
