Dan Bongino, Conservative Podders, author and former agent at the Secret Service body, becomes Deputy Head of the FBI.
President Donald Trump’s message came late on Sunday in a post on the Truth Social platform where he praises Bongino as “a man with incredible love and passion for our country”.
Both Bongino and the new FBI chief Kash Patel, approved by the Senate last week, are described as drum plus. Patel has announced that he intends to redo the federal police FBI, among other things by placing greater emphasis on traditional law enforcement tasks.
As Deputy Director, Bongino will be Patel’s second man at the post, which is traditionally responsible for the daily law enforcement activities.
Neither Bongino nor Patel have previously served within the FBI.
