“Is there a gap in the timeline”

The police’s timeline over the day of the mass shooting became public this week, but there are still no important pieces. There is a gap of four hours from the time the perpetrator is visible on a bus stop, to the fact that he is observed in the school yard. – Making a timeline is a standard measure, you post one in all investigations. And in this case, you have a pretty good idea of ​​what has happened and at what times. But I would like to see that there were three timelines, one that represents what the police have done, another for the perpetrator. That timeline would disappear far back to get an answer to the question why it happened at all. There is a trigger somewhere, says Bosse Åström, former crime commissioner.

The third timeline would be about the location of the mass murder.

A door of four hours

There is a time window of almost four hours when it is unclear what the perpetrator did.

– One of the reasons could be that he has been in contact with someone else who has promoted his measures. But if you look at his personality and history, it is unlikely. I think it is a pure preparation time to choose the right time, says Bosse Åström.

– I am quite sure that the police have collected everything that is in their power to collect the information that is in the immediate area. If you have not obtained anything, there may be a shortage of cameras or that he has flown under the radar.

Many witnesses have been heard by the police and talked to the media. The risk of witnesses hearing each other’s tasks is that the investigation is being contaminated, says Bosse Åström.

– If I had called for a press conference, I would have appealed to the journalists to take it easy but give a damn in potential witnesses, he says.

The most important answer remains

Police found 70 empty sleeves and a hundred cartridges next to the dead perpetrator.

– The conclusion is that his intentions have been to put up with so much fucking disorder and chaos that is possible with the resources he has, says Åström and returns to the three lines:

– What has happened in his life that triggers that he commits these terrible deaths? And why exactly at Risbergska school instead of a shopping center?

The most important thing to answer now is why the perpetrator committed the mass murder.

– It is the most important thing for us to be able to work proactively so that it does not happen in the future again. And for the relatives to get an answer as to why. It is said that the victims were randomly selected, but they were a collective goal and the question is why.
