Sweden will be seen in the basketball men’s European Championship for the first time in more than ten years.
Blue-yellow’s place for the end of the summer European Championships was confirmed on Sunday when Germany fell Bulgaria in the qualifying round.
Sweden ended its own qualifiers for an 86-83-time win in Montenegro. In addition to Sweden, the reigning world champion Germany and Montenegro reached the Games.
Sweden last played in the men’s European Championship in 2013.
Prior to that, it was the last time it was in 2003 as a tournament host, so there is a very rare delicacy for the Swedes. In total, this year’s European Championship Tournament is 11th for Sweden in men’s basketball.
European Championship basketball will be played on August 27-14. September in Poland, Finland, Latvia and Cyprus. The finals will be drawn on March 27.
