See Cornelia Öhlund’s second year in the player above.
Öhlund had previously been best in the World Cup. But now she struck with the best World Cup competition of her life. In Sestriere, Italy, she began by having the 23rd best time after the first ride.
Then she impressed a lot in her second ride. The 19-year-old had the fastest ride of all. For example, she was 1.24 seconds faster than victorious Mikaela Shiffrin.
In total, Öhlund climbed 18 placements and she had to remain in the leader for a long time before passing.
Shiffrin historical
The victory thus went to Mikaela Shiffrin. A historical one. The American superstar has now won 100 times in the World Cup.
Afterwards, it was a tear -eyed Shiffrin interviewed in Viaplay:
– Everyone has been so nice and so supportive. I am so grateful, she says.
For Shiffrin it was a nice revenge after the bottom button on Saturday. In the Grand Slalom she was 33rd after the first ride and thus failed to move on. Something that had not happened since 2012.
Zrinka Ljutic, Croatia, finished second and Paula Moltzan, USA, third.
