Despite SMHI’s warnings for lightning in the northern parts of the country, the night has been accident -free on the roads.

SMHI went out with yellow warnings for sudden ice slip in major parts of Norrland on Saturday night, but no major accidents were reported during the night.

“We have not received any accidents, just reports that it has been really slippery,” says Emilie Danielsson, commander at the North Police Region.

The mild weather with a couple of plus degrees and rain can be treacherous on the roads something that caused the warnings.

– We will see what happens when the traffic starts now in the morning. There are a couple of plus degrees here in Umeå and rain, but it gets a little cooler at night which makes it slippery, says Emilie Danielsson.

The risk of ice slip in the north remains, warns SMHI.
