Last week, several older people were contacted by fraudsters who claimed to call from the police in Järfälla. Which caused the police to go out with a warning to the public.
Then fraudsters have contacted the elderly on at least seven occasions in Järfälla. No one got rid of any valuables.
Was cheated: said she would gather her jewelry
On Friday, a fraudster has pretended to be from an insurance company and managed to bring jewelry from a woman in Bromma.
“The woman is managed to gather her jewelry with the motivation that these should be photographed,” the police write on her website.
The police cannot currently answer whether there is any connection to last week’s fraud attempt.
– We look at all fraud and see if there are connections. It is a matter for the investigators, says Susanna Rinaldo, the police spokesperson.
The police have not arrested any suspects.
So you protect
If you suspect that you are exposed to a suspected fraud attempt, you should contact the police directly. And if you have been exposed, you should call 144 14, says Rinaldo.
The police website contains information on how to protect themselves. It says, among other things, that you should never disclose card information, codes or other sensitive information to someone who comes to the home.
“No serious actor would ask you for this by phone or through a visit to your home. Card information and codes are keys to your money ”.
Never disclose personal information over the phone or to someone who comes home to you.
Add to the handset if an unknown person calls and you will be unsure.
Never let an unknown person into your home.
Never hand over credentials, bank cards or your code to any other person.
Call a relative or acquaintance if you feel unsure.
