Scheduled from February 23 to March 2, 2025, the 17ᵉ edition of the Rwanda Tour must be a dress rehearsal before the world road cycling championships, which will be held next September in Kigali. It takes place then that, on the other side of the border in the DRC, the armed armed group M23, supported by Rwanda, continues to progress in South Kivu, after having taken the two major metropolises in the East, Goma and Bukavu.
