We thought it disappeared this emblematic French brand is back

This French iconic brand, which had not paraded for a few years, announced a few days ago that it would again! We tell you everything.

The 2024 fashion year has been marked by many changes: the arrival of Sarah Burton at the head of Givenchy, Louise Trotter at the head of Bottega Veneta, Matthieu Blazy at Chanel, but also the unexpected departures of Dries Van Notten From his eponymous brand and especially of John Galliano to the head of the Margiela house, to name a few.

This new year will therefore be full of surprises. And some brands have already started to announce new things to us! This is the case of Hermès who informed a few days ago wanting to get started in haute couture. Celine too, has not finished surprising us.

Following the departure of Hedi Slimane at the head of Celine for seven years, the American creator Michael Rider took the reins of the French house. He had already worked for the brand, then led by Phoebe Philo, between 2008 and 2018, before taking the head of Ralph Lauren. The claw is therefore familiar to him. But he is sure that he will bring a new breath. And, this is already the case since Celine has announced scrolling again!

As a reminder, the brand has not presented its podium collections since February 2023. Indeed, it was through short films that Hedi Slimane presented his outfits. And above all: excluding official calendar. Michael Rider is not going to derogate from this choice, since he will present his first collection on July 6, 2025 at 2:30 p.m., the day before the haute couture week. If the brand has revealed the date and time, it did not specify neither the place, nor if the collection will be intended for men or women, or if it will be unisex.

Under Hedi Slimane, Bernard Arnault had declared during an annual LVMH meeting: “Celine is chic, trendy, sexy fashion for young people, even if prices are what they are, and it works. I was in Japan last week with Delphine [Arnault]. I could see that in front of the Celine shops, there was an incredible queue, up to two hours“reports Vogue France.

If the emblematic creator is known to shape the brands in his image with his rock spirit, Michael Rider will surely offer a different direction, which we are looking forward to discovering!
