Björn Ferry reveals a personal detail about his Olympic gold medal

It is 15 years since Björn Ferry won an Olympic gold in Vancouver.
Now he reveals something about his medal that is at home in a cupboard.
– I have a personal relationship with that medal, he says in SVT.

The last ten years have Björn Ferry46, been a loved and respected TV expert in SVT’s Winter Studio. But before that, he was a successful biathlon, especially when great championships were won. In 2010, he, fairly unexpectedly, won an Olympic gold in the hunting start in Vancouver. He started as an eighth man, but went in goal as number one.

Björn Ferry’s recognition of the medal

When Björn and his colleague Ola Bränholm Answered questions in SVT’s extra program “Ask Ferry” which is broadcast after the regular studio broadcast after the World Cup race, they received a question from the viewer “Frida” which was about Björn’s Olympic medal. In short, she wondered how often he stands and admires his precious object at home.
– Quite often. It is in a cupboard at home. Glass cabinet with a lamp. But sometimes I forget to light that lamp, I really want to be able to see it from the sofa, he says.

He goes on to tell that the Olympic gold means a lot to him. Even when he won it 15 years ago, he remembers it all as if it were yesterday.
– Yes, but I have a personal relationship with that medal. There is so many memories with it and it has meant so much to me in life both before, during and after that. So the Olympic gold is a big deal for me.

So often Ferry looks at his Olympic medal

Then he comes to the essence of the answer, what is actually about how often he looks at his golden price.
– But how often? I do not include statistics in any Excel sheet that Ola would do, but it is regular. It is probably at least a few times a month I would say.

In addition to his Olympic gold, Björn Ferry took three World Cup medals during his career (of which one gold), two pieces in mixed relay and one in the mass start. In the mixed relay he both competed with Helena EkholmThe Anna Carin Zidek (Olofsson) and Carl Johan Bergman.
