Mobile operator KVIQ attracted new customers by saying they call from major operators.
Now the company’s sales trick is prohibited by the Consumer Ombudsman.
If they violate the rules, they risk a fine of 1.5 million.
Private individuals received calls from sellers who said themselves from major operators, such as Telia or three. Actually, the sellers for mobile operator KVIQ worked and wanted to attract new customers to subscribe.
KVIQ also sent sms during the talks where people were offered a lower price. The people were encouraged to press a link to sign an agreement with KVIQ with a two -year binding period.

Some 40 notifications have been made to the Consumer Agency regarding KVIQ since 2023. Now the company’s sales methods are banned.
According to the Consumer Ombudsman’s decision, the company must in the future be clear with who is the sender. If they violate the ban, they risk having to pay a fine of 1.5 million.
– This subscription had not ordered consumers or no use because they already had a subscription with other companies. In addition, they were misled to answer yes to the text message during ongoing calls, which is prohibited, says Pär Magnusson, process advice at KO, in a press release.
