Gary Girardi, A Superintende of Education With The Lambton-Kent District School Board (LKDSB), is set to become its director of Education on May 1.

The Board Made the Announcement Friday, following the News in September that John Howitt was retiring from the senior management post at the end of April.
“Gary’s Wealth of Experience, His Commitment to Community, and His Dedication to Creating An Environment where Every Student, Staff Member, and Family Feels Valued Make Him The Ideal Leader for the Lkdsb,” Board Flesheperson Kelley Robertson Said in a stament.
The Board has more than 21,000 Students in More Than 60 Schools in Lambton County and Chatham-Kent.
Robertson Said Girardi’s “Passion for Education and Belief in the Power of Safe and Inclusive Schools Will Continue to Drive The Success of our Board and the Future of Our Students.”
The Board Said Girardi More than 25 Years of Experience Includes Serving With The School Board As A Teacher, Vice-Principal, Principal and Superintende of Education Most Recently Focused on Advancing Student Achievement, Equity, and Community collaboration While Overseing Human Resources, Safe Schools and Leadership Development.

Girardi’s parents, who arrived in Canada after the second world war, are credited with instilling in Him a Deep Appreciation for Public Education, The Board Said.
“Public Education is a cornerstone of Canadian Society,” Girardi Said in a News Release “Having Access to It Is Something I Don’t Take for Grant. It’s a right for everybody, and i have dedicated my life to ensuring that. ”
Girardi was main of Northern Collegiate Institute and Vocational School in Sarnia in 2015 when He was initially coventent Acting Superintende of Education for Account and Capital Planning.
The Board Said Girardi Will Focus As Incoming Education Director On Continuing The Organization’s Work “Building A Healthy, Supportive and Inclusive Learning Environment For All,” and that he remains Committed to Upholding the Values of Equity, Respect and Accessibility.
“I Believe that Education is the foundation of a strong, thriving society, and I am committed to fostering an inclusive, innovative, and supportive surroundings where every student can sucksued,” he said.
Girardi Said He Feels Honoured to Begin Work as Education Director and Said it is “a privilege to serve this community and work Alongside our dedicated educators, staff, and families to provide our studs with the best learning experiences.”
Howitt was completed Education Director in July 2019 after 27 Years with the Greater Essex County District School Board.
