Some of the Area’s Most Talented Musicians Will Be Performing in this Year’s Norfolk Musical Arts Festival, Says One of the Organizers.

“Laura Will Be Comparting at the Senior Level in Piano,” Vicky Lachine, The Festival’s Secretary Said. “She’s an accomplished pianist and violinist who performs with Her Violin Through the Hamilton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.

“She has just been promoted to assistant to the concert master.”

Lachine Said Nyburg is in grade 10 Violin and Recently Played With A Group of Nine Others from the Philharmonic with Sean Jones, a Canadian Jazz and Blues Perform.

“As for the piano, she was invited this past summer to perform three pieces in collingwood by daniel vnukowski, who heads up the music festival there,” lachine said. “He performs and is a Regular on the New Classical FM Radio Station.”

Nyburg is an Example of the Talented Singers and Musicians Registered to Competal in the Festival, which Runs from feb. 24 to 27 at Various who came in simcoe.

“When we add in the choirs and the bands that will be competing, i’d say that we’ll have between 800 and 1,000 performers,” lachine said. “We have schoon choirs and performers from Norfolk County and the Surrounding Area included some from Brantford and Haldimand.

“We Really Pleased with this Year’s Registration ESPECIALLY FROM THE ELEMENTARY LEVEL.”

Organizers Are Hoping Members of the Public Will Take Advantage of the Opportunity to Hear Some Great Choirs, Bands and Musicians, Lachine Said.

“The Gives Young Musicians A Festival Chance To Perform and the Compete and the Variety Means There’s Something for Everyone to Enjoy,” Lachine Said. “At the Vocal Venue We have classical Voice, Musical Theater, Community Choirs and School Choirs.

“It’s the same time the piano at the piano coming where we will have such performer at the introductory level, some duets and some performing at the top royal conservatory of music level.”

Lachine Said Wednesday, Feb. 26 IS A Particularly Busy Day for the Festival With All Venues Featuring More Vocal and Pianist Performances As Well as English Speech Arts.

“People Competing in the English Speech Arts, which is Mostly Drama, people deliver a piece of prose, some dialogue, a couple of group scenes classes,” lachine said. “A Lot of the Kids Performing in English Speech Arts Come from Locals Schools as well as young theaters in Simcoe.

“We also have Secondary School Chorus and Bands on Wednesday (Feb. 26).”

The Telephone City Musical Society Concert Band Will Be Performing On Wednesday and the French Speech Arts Competition Takes Place Friday.

Some of the Highlights of this Year’s Festival Include The Instrumental Arts Cup Competition and Vocal Arts Cup Competition At St. James United Church, 150 Colborne St. S. at 7 pm Top Performers, as Chosen by Festival Adjudicators, will be competting for a cash Prize of $ 1,000.

“We really want to encourage the public to come out for that event because it truly is an enjoyable eventing,” lachine said. “It features the top Performters of the Festival.”

Scholarships and trophies will also be presented throughout the week.

The Highlights and Awards Night is Being Held March 4 at Colborne Village United Church, 30 Glendale Cres. In Simcoe at 7 pm

“It’s Another Great Event Becaus That’s when our donors show up to present awards,” Lachine Said.

Admission to performances is by donation at the door.

Lachine Said the Festival is in its 39th Year and is injured to have so much community support as well as a strong body of volunteers.

The Festival’s Board of Directors Meets Year Round To Plan The Event. During Week Festival, there are about 60 Volunteers Handling A Range of Tasks to Ensure The Event Runs Smoothly.

As well, the festival has the support of more than 30 local business and organization.
