(Finance) – It was held at the Rome Ostiense station the institutional visit of the “Memory train“, a project promoted by Minister for Sport and young people, Andrea Abadi. The train of memory is a historical train made available by Fs Italiane Foundation together with the FS Group Which will cross Italy in seven stages, and retrace, with an itinerant exhibition set up inside, the journey made by the Istrian, Fiumani and Dalmatian exiles in the post -war period.
The event participated Maria Teresa BellucciDeputy minister of labor and social policies; Massimiliano Maselli, Councilor for Social Inclusion and Personal Services of the Lazio Region; Ornella Signals, Councilor for public works and infrastructure, delegate of the mayor of Rome; Lamberto Giannini, Prefect of Rome; Fabrizio dell’Orofice, Institutional Institutional Relations Manager of the Italian State e Federico Mollicone, President VII Commission (Culture, Science and Education) of the Chamber of Deputies.
In the four carriages of the train, visitors have the opportunity to know and deepen the tragedy of the Foibe and the exodus through a multimedia path, in which information panels alternate, repertoire images and original texts recited by a narrative voice. The exhibition is enriched by the exhibition of some of the farmhouses of the exiles, preserved and kept by the Regional Institute for Istrian-Fiumano-Dalmatian culture in Warehouse 18 in Trieste.
THE’2025 edition of the Memory train will touch seven cities. The departure was from Trieste on February 10, and then continued in Padua, Bologna, Rome, Naples and Lecce. The train will conclude his journey to Sassari, while the closing ceremony will be held in Fertilia, a hamlet of Alghero who in 1948 welcomed the exiles started from Chioggia aboard 13 fishing boats.
The memory train is Made by the mission structure for national anniversaries and national and international sporting events of the Prime Minister, by Ferrovie dello Stato and Fs Italiane Foundationin collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Education and merit, the Ministry of Defense, Rai Teche, Rai Culture, Rai History, Archive Luce and Regional Institute for Istrian-Fiumano-Dalmatian culture.
