In Lebanon, more than 25 arrested on suspicion of attack against UN peacekeepers Brief news

In Lebanon, more than 25 people have been suspected of attacking UN peacekeepers, says the country’s Interior Minister Ahmad al-Hajjar.

– This does not mean that they implemented the attack. But the investigation shows who is guilty, Al-Hajjar said.

The Vehicle of the UN Lebanon Peacekeeping Forces was lit yesterday on the Beirut Airport Road. According to UNIFIL, the burning of the vehicle wounded one of the receding deputy commander of the operation.

According to the Lebanon Armed Forces, especially in the area surrounding the airport, there have been demonstrations that have attacked the armed forces and vehicles.

A reporter from the AFP news agency said on Friday night that a vehicle with a UN peacekeeping logo was burned when the supporters of the extremist Hizbollah had again cut off the road to Beirut Airport.

The charred vehicle was abandoned along the roadside when the troops had been sent to the protest.
