The elementary school challenge means that a local company presents a “case” that students in grades 7-9 will find a solution to.
This year’s challenge focused on reducing the number of young people suffering from traffic accidents, in light of the increase in the number of traffic accidents in the county.
This is the first time the challenge has been arranged in Dalarna and the students have been working on their projects since September last year.
Among the audience, in addition to proud teachers, there were also representatives from the police, project manager for the National Road Safety Association (NTF) and Falu Municipality.
Four finalists of 137 ideas
One of the finalists was the “Supers sensor”, an idea by Elvira Karlsson, Frida Färnlöf, Emy Stål and Ester Dragsten in class 7D at the English school in Falun. It is a sensor that discovers if there are more than one passenger who rides on the electrical kick bike.
In the video clip, the students present the other three final contributions – where you can also see which team won SEK 2,000 to the class box.
