The 45-year-old man who was arrested in March 2023 for filming naked children in Kalmar Swimming Hall’s dressing room has now received his verdict. The man is convicted of 71 cases of abusive photography and 86 cases of child pornography offenses.
Searched up times for swimming schools
The man has filmed a total of 44 videos on 37 different children and took 1468 still images from the video material.
In police interviews, the man has told him that he placed the cellphone in an outer compartment on his bag and directed the camera at the children to be able to film in secret.
To know when the children would be in the dressing room, he has sought out what times the swimming schools took place and therefore many of the children are also included in several different videos from different dates.
May pay damages
All families requested compensation of between SEK 20,000 and SEK 120,000 per child. A total of close to SEK 2 million.
The district court judges the man to pay damages totaling over SEK 1 million to the affected families.
