Ice hockey: Brynäs success – the best newcomer of all time in SHL

See Brynäs three goals in 82 seconds in the video player above.

Already in the last round, Brynäs tangled the record from the 2013–2014 season when Leksand took 83 points. But now the success club from Gävle is alone about the record. This is despite the fact that there remain eleven matches of the basic series.

But the series leader got a heavy start to the away game against Malmö. Robin Salo put 1-0, 5.31 into the match.

Then Brynäs turned to the match and scored three goals in 82 seconds.

The first goal set the 18-year-old Slovak Michal Svrcek after a quick turnaround, his first hit in SHL. Then two significantly more experienced players, Johan Larsson and Anton Rödin, became goalkeepers.

– Obviously it gets a little sour there in the beginning. But then three quick goals and I think we control it well after that, says Brynäs Jakob Silfverberg in TV4.

Expands the series lead

After a speechless second period, Silfverberg then put 4-1 in numerical superiority in the third period. A goal that became the last of the match.

– I think we play stable. We are quick in the changes and create a lot of chances. A good match and (Erik) Källgren in the goal is really sharp, says Silfverberg.

In parallel during the evening, the series two lost Färjestad against Leksand. Something that means that Brynäs is now leading the series by twelve points.
