Visiting Senior Specialist at the A-studio Olli Ruohomäki It does not consider massive population transfers completely excluded from Gaza.

– I would not completely exclude the possibility that massive population transfers from Gaza and even from the West Bank may happen. It must be remembered that there are moments in recent history and in history in general when politically continental plates move and big things can happen, says Ruohomäki.

Ruohomäki does not comment on how to transfer the Gazans to other countries in the area in practice if the Gazans do not want to leave their homes.

Palestinian exile to other countries in the area would be contrary to international laws. It would be ethnic cleaning and war crime.

One of the countries where the US President Donald Trump has proposed the transfer of the Gazans, is Jordan. Today’s King of Jordan Abdullah II met Trump in a white house.

According to Ruohomäki, Trump is now heavily pressureed by his allies Jordan and Egypt to receive Palestinians from Gaza. He describes the message that the Trump region will send to his allies:

– Now it is the case that you are going here or you lose all the advantages you have been dependent for decades.

Jordan is not immediately tending to Trump’s will

Conflict Resolution Organization CMI’s older project manager Saana Keskitalo However, after a meeting of the White House, King Abdullah II, King Abdullah II, tells that Jordan is not immediately expanding to Trump’s will.

– Jordan talked about 2000 sick children it has promised to receive Gaza, Keskitalo points out.

According to him, Trump and King Abdullah II thus talked about two different things.

Both Ruohomäki and Keskitalo state that the transfer of Palestinian refugees to Jordan, for example, would currently be a peaceful and stable country. According to UNRWA, the UN Palestinian refugee relief organization, there are already 2.36 million Palestinians in Jordan.

However, in order to oppose Trump’s demands, Jordan needs other countries in the area.

-Jordan needs the entire Arabic cabin, including Turkish, and selected EU countries that want to underline international rights and two states model, says Keskitalo.

The Arab countries are expected to agree on their position at the joint meeting on 28 February.
