An 86-year-old man who has been hosted by the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas has died, according to the message from the Israeli Kibbutz where he belonged.
“With heavy hearts, we, Kibbutzen’s members, this morning have received the news about the murder of our dear friend Shlomo Mansour, 86 years old, who was kidnapped from his home in Kibbutzen Kissufim during Hamas terrorist attack on October 7, 2023,” the taxation reads.
Terror -stamped Hamas kidnapped about 250 people during the large -scale attack in October last year. 130 of them have been released in exchanges that have been made in connection with agreements on ceasefires in the burning war.
During the first phase of the current ceasefire, there have been five exchanges where a total of 21 people in hostage have been released as well as more than 730 Palestinians who have been in Israeli prisons. In total, Hamas has committed to release 33 hostages and Israel almost 2,000 prisoners and detainees.
40 people who have been part of the hostage have been found dead by Israeli forces in war -torn Gaza. Eight have been found alive and brought back to Israel.
As a result, Hamas is expected to hold 73 people, of which at least 34 have been confirmed dead by Israel.
Hamas killed about 1,100 people, including a majority civilian, in the attacks on October 7, 2023. It became the starting point for the war where Israel has broken large parts of the Gaza Strip. At least 47,000 people have been killed there during the war, according to the ongoing assessment of the authorities in Gaza.
