Sentenced to 16 years in prison • Tells yourself: “As a fucking horror movie”
A 48-year-old man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for a brutal hammer murder in Lund last year.
Occupational about a forest deal in the million class is suspected to be behind the crime.
– It looks like some fucking horror movie, the convicted man has previously said in police interrogation.
It was on May 31 last year that the 48-year-old man went to a brutal attack with a hammer and killed a 20-year-old man lying on a sofa. The younger man was found murdered in the 48-year-old’s home and was so ill with a hammer that it took weeks before his identity could be determined.
Now the 48-year-old has been sentenced in Lund District Court for the bloody act. The Court finds that some 20 strokes were distributed with the Hammaren and thus the 48-year-old’s claim that his intention was not to kill was not credible.
“A violence of such kind inevitably leads to death quickly and does not leave room for any alternative effect,” Lund District Court writes in the judgment.
Claimed emergency defense
In court, the 48-year-old objected that he acted in emergency defense, which was dismissed by the court.
The suspect has stated in a police interview that he and the victim, a man in his 20s, have done financial business together. The young man would act an intermediary at the 48-year-old’s investment in forest.
According to the now convicted man, he was pressed for more money than was determined, while the victim must have become threatening. The 48-year-old has stated that he was afraid of what would happen when it turned out that he lied about access to money from a legacy.
Waited for the victim to fall asleep
The murder day they were both in the same apartment in Lund. The 48-year-old has stated in interrogation that he was waiting for the young man to fall asleep on the couch-before he distributed about 20 strokes with the hammer.
– I don’t really know what’s going on. I panic. The next I remember is that I stand in the bathroom and … I hardly see my mirror image through the glasses that are … completely covered with blood. I am completely covered with blood and … it looks like some fucking horror movie. Something has gone damn wrong. I don’t really remember how things were spread, the convicted 48-year-old has previously said in police interviews.
Lund District Court has found that the Hammarslagen was not distributed in response to an imminent criminal attack.
