Police Leaders Take An Icy Plunge for Special Olympics Ontario

The Heads of Three Local Police Police Took An Icy Plunge Wednesday to Demonstrate Their Support for Special Olympics Ontario.

Insp, Andrea Quenneville, Detachment Commander at Brant County Opp, Police Chief Jason Saunders of the Brantford Police Service, and Police Chief Darren Montour of Six Nations Police Took Part in a Pre-Plunge Event to Promote The Upcoming Brant-Brantford Polar Plunge.

“This is more than Just a Cold-Water Challenge, It’s about Supporting Athletes who Inspire Us with their dedication and determination,” Quenneville Said. “We are proud to take the plunge and show our support for the special olympics movement.”

The Special Olympics Ontario Summer Games Will Take Place in Brantford, Brant County, and Six Nations in July and the Polar Plunge is the Primary Fundraiser for the Event that Will See Athletes from across Ontario Compete.

The goal is to raise $ 50,000 this year to support programming, training, and events for 23,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities across the province. Individuals and teams from business and organizations are encouraged to demonstrate their courage and warm hearts while getting cold for a good cause.

Participants – Often Retrred to As Plungers – Are Asked to Seek Sponsor Pledges for Their Dip Into the Icy Waters. They should also bring a Towel to dry off, old shoes or water shoes as footwear is Mandate, A Dry Change of Clothes, and A Bag for Their Wet Clothes.

The Brant-Brantford Polar Plunge Takes Place at 2 pm on March 6 at the wayne Gretzky Sports Center in Brantford, with on-site registration beginning at 1:30 pm
