If you wanted to make the last update on your Google Pixel, you might think twice depending on the model.
Owners of a Google Pixel 4A, be warned: perform the last update of the phone would strongly bridle his performances! The AndroidAUTHORITY site has spotted multiple performance concerns on one of their devices after being updated. We are talking about a drop of 43% of autonomy and the loss of several features!
Experts from AndroidAUTHORITY Remember in particular that there are two versions of batteries of the Google Pixel 4A. One of these versions would have seen its charging performance being bridled from 4.45 volts to 3.95 volts. But this is not the most problematic part.
By carrying out different tests on a Google Pixel 4A having carried out its last update, the journalists of the site noticed that the autonomy of the device had drastically dropped by almost 43%! A dreadful fall in performance which generally results on an alert of the operating system relating to a recommended change in battery.
In addition to this drop in battery and recharge performance, Google’s update would also deactivate certain functions of the Google Pixel 4A.
First of all, the functionality allowing to know the remaining time before the full loading of the battery is carried out. Once the last update has been carried out, it now seems impossible to know this value. This would be explained in particular by the fact that the algorithm used for this functionality is not updated with the performance reductions that we mention above.
The adaptive loading of the battery would also be disabled once the Pixel 4A update has been updated. This function, which limits the loading of the battery to improve its lifespan, would no longer be available since the device would simply not manage to calculate the remaining battery percentages.
How to avoid loss of performance on your Google Pixel?
First of all, if you have a fairly old Google Pixel (older than a 6-7 pixel), it is advisable to wait before performing the last update. Google must certainly already be aware of the problem and work on a fix.
If, inadvertently, you have already done the dreaded update, you will unfortunately have to take your pain in patience or turn to Google’s after-sales service which will be able to advise you. However, your device being quite old, it is highly preferable to pay a more recent smartphone to have better performance and updates.
