The snow situation in the Helsinki metropolitan area is weak, but at the weekend, Hakunila will compete in traditional SM sprints and in the Finnish Cup messages in the highest conditions, chairman of the Vantaa Ski Club Jussi Eronen promised.
Despite the mild January, the organization of the Games was never at stake, as the snow can be obtained in Hakunila in four ways: from the sky, the cannon, the artificial ice and the snow factory, from this season.
Creating and maintaining a 2.5 -kilometer racing track is still hard work, Eronen recalls. The snow is done by the city of Vantaa.
– It’s a significant effort. The snow is roughened there and long working days are done.
-There’s a lot to do with the fact that in the late 1970s the Taliban people first cleared those tracks there with a chainsaw. Then the snow was taken to the various races and spread on a shovel, Eronen says.
Niskas and Pärmäkoski are missing
Despite the contracting of the organizers, not all domestic top names are participating in the weekend.
On the list of registered not visible, for example, in the World Cup Iivo or Kerttu from the neck and not Krista Pärmäkoski.
The trio were not involved in the first Finnish Championships in Imatra after Tour de Skin.
The racing calendar is intense, and the Niskas or Pärmäkoski is not basically seeking success in the World Sprint-which, unlike the Finnish Championships, is free skiing.
– It is fully justified and sensible, and from the perspective of the ski follower, it is also desirable that not everyone is there this weekend, Sports Expert Kalle Lassila Evaluate in the Imatra Games.
Next week, the World Cup will compete in Falun, Sweden, before 26 February.
Joensuu stars his home race
Eronen believes that in Vantaa, despite its absences, top -notch competitions will be achieved.
– The biggest star is present, the World Cup sprinting cup currently leading Jasmmi Joensuuwho is the skier of the Vantaa Ski Club. He has been in the best shape of Finnish skiers throughout the season, says Eronen.
– Jasmia will surely be seen. High-quality Finnish Championships will be achieved even though Niskanen’s siblings are not present.
In addition to Joensuu, the list of those who signed up can be found, for example Ristomatti Hakola, Joni Mäki, Lauri Vuorinen, Katri Lylynperä and Amanda island. Eronen bets that 5,000 to 10,000 spectators will arrive at the weekend.
