In Mali, Kalilou Doumbia, former secretary general of the presidency, Colonel Kassoum Goïta, former head of state security, and four other co-accused has been in prison in the fall of 2021, almost four years ago and half. Pursued for “attempted conspiracy against the government”, the six men – three civilians, three uniform carriers – have undergone acts of torture. Some of them are currently sick. No perspective of close judgment, no prospect of provisional liberation: their lawyers now call for the “humanity” of the transitional authorities.
