Thing in summary

The most talked about change in the 2025 route of the Finnish World Rally Rally will hit the closing day. Known as the most legendary specialty of the world, Ouninpohja is the only special test on Sunday on Sunday, August 3. It is driven twice and the latter is Power Stagen.

Even the post -race podium celebrations will be held in the same region at the intersection of the legendary Kakaristo.

Kalle Rovanperä Comment at the announcement of the route that such a closing day is unprecedented. One of the most difficult and finest special stages in the world on the closing day of the World Rally and the latter Power Stagena.

– This is unique. Certainly we will have a stunning audience. There are big stakes for drivers on that Sunday. There are lots of points in the distribution. Certainly a big show will be done, Rovanperä also admired the afternoon broadcast of Central Finland for a moment after the route was announced.

So Ouninpohti will solve the fate of the whole race and then over the bonus points from the Sunday’s separate competition and the end of the race.

Another striking special test is Parkkola on Saturday’s program. It combines sections of many well -known special stages, such as misery and mosquitoes. Parkkola is a new special test for modern generation drivers.

– There’s no terribly information about that. There should be a challenging special test, says Rovanperä.

Rovanperä is already a double world champion, but the victory of the home race is missing. So is there a monkey on your shoulders?

– It’s not been yourself, and still hasn’t. After all, it would be nice to win the race, but it’s a race among others. Previous companies have not gone with a lot of success. My own mistakes, bad luck and whatever. Let’s see what happens this year, Rovanperä replies.

The break did his job

Rovanperä did not run the full World Rally Championship last season, only half of the race. Now, according to Rovanperä, the break has done its job.

– There was a few times the feeling that you should be driving. After all, it was sought to get a good feeling and good hunger right from the start, Rovanperä describes.

Rovanperä, who enjoyed drifting and racing last year, says that the break has changed his perception of rally to some extent.

– Get new ideas and see things a little different. Last year was a good year. I liked a lot. I have time to experience anything else that I haven’t had time to do, Rovanperä describes.

Rovanperä finished fourth in the Monte Carlo World Championship, which opened this World Championship season. The World Rally season will continue next week in Sweden. Rovanperä won the competition in 2022. Since then, the next two races have gone to the name of non-Toyota drivers. Ott Tänak won in 2023 at M-Sport’s Ford steering wheel and last year Ykkönen had driven Esapekka Lapland.

Rovanperä is very prepared for this year’s Swedish World Rally. Last weekend, Rovanperä tested for Sweden at the fell rally. This week, Rovanperä has already had time to run its preparatory test.

Rovanperä describes that opening the season in Montte was definitely difficult for everyone. For this season, the rules were modified so that the cars are lighter. There is no more hybrid engine. In addition, the World Series tire manufacturer changed, so everyone has had to get used to the new tires.

The tires in particular have spoken a lot. In both Monte Carlo and Tunturi, Rovanperä had challenges with tires.

He now described the fell as an important test for Sweden a few days after the race.

– There are really few kilometers on these Hankook tires. They searched for kilometers and data for the whole team to get the car shock and hopefully adjust the tires, Rovanperä describes.

In addition to Rovanperä, in the Swedish World Rally, the eyes will certainly focus on the Finnish in the fell rally and also defeat Rovanperä Tuukka for Kauppinen. 18-year-old Kauppinen won the fell raw as its youngest driver in history.

Kauppinen competes with Toyota’s Rally2 car, like a fell in Sweden.

– Tuuka’s going has seemed very convincing. He drove in the fell by driving a really great result. All you can do is say that it looks good. I hope you continue with the same pattern. Tuuka has very good grip, Rovanperä incense.
