WhatsApp will soon replace an adored feature of users … to put in place a solution that will not be much appreciated.
The two billion WhatsApp users will soon have to abandon a flagship functionality of Meta’s messaging. The application is constantly renewing itself in order to offer the best services for its users, even if it means leaving its flagship assets behind it.
Since July 2024, WhatsApp has liked to test AI Studio, a feature that introduces several chatbots to different personalities, depending on the artificial intelligence associated with it. This novelty will take the form of an unprecedented tab on Meta’s messaging. Unfortunately, another tab, old and historic, should take its suitcases and disappear from the reception of the application, even if it means frustrating certain users.
Whatsapp’s new IA feature should make its arrival during the BETA 2.25.1.26 version for Android, the date of which is still unknown. Users will then discover a whole variety of new profiles (which are actually only artificial intelligences), with varied personalities, functions and skills. Perhaps it will be possible to create your own Avatar AI, but nothing has been confirmed by Meta at present.
Each IA personality will offer a different and unique answer according to their character traits. Each avatar will be stored in a separate category, some providing general advice, others provide help in creative tasks or improving playing experiences … A whole multitude of personalities will be made available to respond to all user needs.
The new tab will replace that of “communities” at the bottom right of the WhatsApp interface, which made it possible to constitute subgroups (between real humans, this time) within a general group, as is the case on Discord. An ideal system for neighborhood associations, parents of students or even companies, in order to categorize discussions and put order among all the members of a collective.
For the most worried, rest assured! The next version of WhatsApp does not sign the definitive abolition of “communities”. The device will only give way to AI Studio in the interface, to be transferred to the main “discussion” tab. Meta’s messaging allows you to continue to communicate through your different groups.
