The United States will take over the Gaza Strip and we will do a job with that too. We will own it, Trump said at a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump says the war -torn Gaza Strip, home for more than two million Palestinians, could be “Middle East Riviera”.
Netanyahu in turn says Trump’s plan for Gaza can “change the story” and further that Trump is the “biggest friend Israel ever had”.
Trump said earlier on Tuesday that the Gazabs should permanently leave the strip for countries such as Egypt and Jordan.
It is not possible to live in Gaza now. We should find somewhere where they can be happy. A beautiful place, where they are not killed or pushed down, he said while the Israeli Prime Minister nodded.
Egypt and Jordan have rejected Trump’s proposal to move Palestinians from Gaza there.
