Already during the first day of the Alpine World Cup, Sara Hector and the other Swedes took bronze in parallel slalom in the team competition.
Immediately afterwards, the star left the championship.
The Alpine World Cup started on Tuesday with a team competition. Surprisingly, Sweden knocked out the home team Austria, but lost the semi -final against Italy (which later won the gold). – So fun! We really did this as a team. Everyone was contributing and I am very proud to be part of this team. It’s so awesome, Hector says afterwards.

What perhaps shocked many was that just big star Sara Hector left the World Cup in Saalbach already after the first day. The reason is that her branches, grand slalom and slalom, do not appear in the championship schedule until a week. So she has some time to reload before she will compete again.
– A little break and physical training. Then we do ski training again and then we go back, she tells Expressen.
Hector has a chance at two medals to
Hector’s specialty is a grand slalom, where she is the reigning Olympic champion. But she will also invest in slalom in this World Cup – and she really has a medal chance. She has actually tied two pallet seats in the slalom in the World Cup.
– The main focus is on big slalom, but I have had a good arrangement for both I would say. It has been a good balance in the last period, she says.

She has not changed as much as to the arrangement for the championship. Possibly she allowed herself to train a little more for this World Cup than she would normally do before a major championship.
– I might drive a little more now than, for example, towards the Olympics, not very much but a little. Maybe reduced a few days big slalom, she says.
