Normal has grown avalanche and has gone from 35 to just over 120 stores in Sweden in just a few years.

– When I started in 2019 there were 35 stores. Only since August first 2023 have we built 36 stores. Before it will be August again, we will open nine more, said Jan Nyberg, CEO for Normal Sweden AB to Aftonbladet in the middle of 2024.

Normal has over 800 stores

Today, the chain has more than 840 stores in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, France, Finland, Portugal and Spain. About 120 of the stores are located in Sweden.

The chain originally comes from Denmark but also has stores in Norway. Some of the chain’s products have gone viral on the social media app TikTok and created storms for the stores.

In Norway, one of Normal’s products has become extra popular and demand has increased avalanche, which also Dagens.no reported on.

It is Papiljotter who made a boost again and now lots are sold.

– We have established a large selection of, and expanded the stock in stores of various products for curling, including curlers, as we feel that there has been an increasing demand for a longer period, says Thomas Harsvik, boss at Normal Norway, to Yourside.

Demand for Papiljots has increased

According to Harsvik, the demand for hair products should have increased over time, and Tiktok should play a significant role in this.

– You can see on social media and especially at Tiktok that curlers have made a comeback. They are now used to give the hair fullness, volume and shine. People usually use bigger hair rolls now, while they used to use very small, he tells Yourside.

Even in Sweden, many people buy curlers and many influencers use this when they styling their hair.
