The Dark-Souls series is best known for its bock-heavy bosses and there are dozens of them, distributed over three games. But which of them is actually the strongest? Meinmmo-Souls expert Christos Tsogos looks at the upper motze and assigns them to places in the ranking.
How does this ranking come about? This is not about the pure gameplay of the bosses, so how difficult a boss is to be defeated. Instead, it should be evaluated how strong the bosses are actually according to their lore and history.
Even if Dark Souls is primarily known for his gameplay, there is a huge world with an enormous amount of story behind the games that collect fans in absurdly large databases. The ranking derives accordingly from descriptions of items, dialogues with NPCs and quests.
Who writes here?
Meinmmo author Christos Tsogos has dealt with Dark Souls’ Lore since the first part was released. Through fan theories up to lore videos and summaries of all information, Christos has acquired great background knowledge. Large enough to be able to determine which the boss from Dark Souls 1, 2 and 3 are really powerful.
Only their theoretical strengths are weighted as well as their power and work in the world. Our ranking will be happy to invite you to discussions. If you are on a different opinion, please contact the comments.
Important things about ranking: In the list you will also find the bosses of the DLCs. In order not to go beyond the list, I limited myself to the 10 strongest with a detailed TOP 5.
These are the strongest:
5th place: Manus, father of the abyss (Dark Souls 1)
Sources:
Manus is a central boss and character in the events of the DLC of Dark Souls 1. He is responsible for the fact that Oolacile fell victim to the abyss. He corrupted all residents and the surrounding country with the power of darkness and resides at the lowest point of the city.
Manus was once a human magician. In fact, his remains rested in a grave under Oolacile, but the magicians of the city found and finally tortured him. Why is not quite clear. Theories assume that he was one of the dwarf prince who received a piece of the dark soul from the stealthy dwarf.
How powerful manus is, is evident in dealing with the dark soul: in his frenzy he left the abyss free and thus destroyed a large part of Lordran. Despite the strongest knights of Gwyn, such as Gough and Artorias, Manus could not be defeated and continued to take the surrounding area.
The abyss is endless and even if Manus could not control it, he could at least conjure it up as a weapon and represent a threat to the gods, who otherwise look rather fearlessly at their enemies. Without the protagonist from Dark Souls 1, the abyss would have spread further.
His strengths are also mainly in witchcraft, but Manus can also hand out a lot in close combat. In addition, he has the opportunity to bend space and time to bring the protagonist into the past, which is rather unusual, but speaks for his power.
It continues with 4th place on page 2.
