Wave of burglary in company cars

“The large amount of burglary that happened last in Uppsala and which has happened in other regions lately, however, indicates that we have one or more international crime networks here,” says Lisa JohanssonAnalysts on the crime coordination of the police region Mitt.

The burglaries have been focused on company cars and the thieves have often been in search of different types of tools or other gadgets of high value. Usually they go about cutting the plate on the car, accessing locking function and emptying the car, the police write on their website.

“The modus is known before and can be linked to international crime networks, although it is sometimes used by local players,” Johansson said in the press release.
