Prosecutor after the murder of Momika: Looking in another direction

Five people were arrested, suspected of involvement in the murder of Salwan Momika last week.
As the suspicions weakened, they were released – now the prosecutor states that other suspects are being sought.
“You look in another direction, absolutely,” says Senior Prosecutor Rasmus Öman, who is a preliminary investigator.

Late on Wednesday evening, Koran burner Salwan Momika was shot dead in an apartment in Södertälje when he sent live on Tiktok. When the police entered the apartment, the broadcast was still ongoing.

According to information to TV4 News, he was shot with more shots in his head. Later in the night, five people were arrested, suspected of involvement in the murder.

TV4 The news review showed that there was a link between those arrested and a person who previously attacked Momika.

Prosecutor: “Formally, the suspicions are not closed”

On Friday night, the prosecutor announced that the five arrested persons were released when the crime suspicions were weakened.

“The crime suspicions have weakened and I no longer see to keep the people detained,” said Senior Prosecutor Rasmus Öman on Friday.

The suspects must have provided some information to the investigation, which have been checked.

– Formally, the suspicions are not closed. Some information that has been checked has been provided, which has caused the suspicions to weaken. However, certain investigative measures that need to be checked before further decisions can be made regarding those who are previously detained, says Senior Prosecutor Rasmus Öman.

Looking in another direction

The prosecutor has previously stated that they continue to map what has happened. He does not want to comment on the investigation or course of events in detail, but states that one is looking for other suspected perpetrators.
