Investigation wants advertising for uselessness to be limited

On behalf of the government, the two authorities have investigated how to get young Swedes to get better eating habits.

Measures are needed, they say. According to the investigation, more and more children and young people are affected by problems such as overweight, diabetes and bad teeth as a result of what they stop in themselves.

As an antidote, it is proposed, among other things, an investigation of how to limit the advertising for that children and young people are exposed to.

“An important factor is the marketing of unhealthy foods towards children and young people who are intrusive, not least in social media, and contributes to poorer eating habits,” believes the Public Health Authority and the National Food Agency.

Another of the proposals is to review how tax -financed meals that reach children and young people should become more nutritious and sustainable.

“In Sweden, we have come a long way with our school food, which means a nutritious meal for all children attending elementary school. But there is potential for developing other meals within the school, as well as the food environment for children and young people in other tax -financed environments, ”says the Swedish Food Agency’s Director General Annica Sohlström, in a press release
