The EU intends to respond to Trumps potential duties Brief

The European Union warns that it will strike back if the US President Donald Trump implements their threats and imposes import duties on the EU.

“The EU intends to respond to all trading partners who put import duties without justification or arbitrarily,” said the European Commission spokesman.

German leading federal candidate Friedrich Merz Said he was worried about the Trump set up for Mexico, Canada and China.

“Customs has never been a good way to resolve trade policy conflicts,” Merz said at the CDU party meeting on Sunday.

Merz stated that the costs of customs customs will, above all, burden American consumers.

According to Merz, the EU must start negotiating with the United States.

The duties imposed by Trump Mexico, Canada and China came into force on Saturday.
