Before Penders settled at FC Utrecht, as an assistant to Michael Silberbauer, he was the head coach at FC Eindhoven. “I don’t see it as a step back,” says the former defender. “I didn’t just want to become an assistant somewhere else. I consider FC Utrecht a top five club and I would like to be an assistant trainer there.”
