Israel has implemented an air attack against a car in Gaza, despite the ceasefire with Hamas, Reuters reports.
According to Israeli Haaretz, the attack took place near a refugee camp in central Gaza.
Five people were injured in Gaza on Sunday when Israel attacked a car from the air that “behaved strangely”. Among the injured was a child whose condition is said to be critical.
The Israeli military says that the vehicle was attacked because it passed a border post on the way north, which is contrary to the ceasefire.
“IDF is prepared for all scenarios and will continue to take the necessary steps to ward off any immediate threat to IDF soldiers,” says the Israeli military (IDF) in a statement.
However, Israel states that it is still anxious to honor the ceasefire.
“Terrorists killed on the West Bank”
“A number of terrorists” have at the same time been killed in three air strikes on Saturday on the occupied West Bank. Two attacks were directed at Jenin and the Air Force states that they were against and “eliminated a terrorist cell that was about to perform an immediate terrorist attack” in Qabatiya.
According to the military, one of the persons killed must have been released from Israeli prison in 2023 as the part of the first agreement on a ceasefire in the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.
The Palestinian Health Authority stated on Saturday night that five people, among them a 16-year-old, were killed in Israeli attacks against Jenin.
The authority announced that another person was killed by Israeli soldiers on the West Bank on Sunday.
Earlier this year, Israel started a large offensive on the West Bank with the goal of clearing out militant Palestinian groups from the Jenin area.
