There are only a few days left to avoid receiving a fine.
It could be bad news. In a few weeks, many French people could have a letter in their mailbox summoning them to adjust a fine. However, there will be no question of a road offense, a wild deposit or other sanction incurred on a daily basis. The fine could be much more surprising, even if its amount is not the most excessive. 38 euros are indeed to be paid by the persons concerned.
This concerns the census. Since January, agents have been around many buildings and houses to meet the inhabitants. 9 million dwellings are asked. On the doorstep, the latter presents a “INSEE” stamped document on which there are several indications to fill out the online form. If you are not comfortable with digital, then the person gives a paper form.
Better to have time to do so because the interrogation is tedious: identity, identity of parents, housing, composition of the home, studies, profession, business name, telework or not, transport used, health … as many Themes that ask to ask yourself to answer the fifty questions asked.
Faced with the length of the task and/or the request for personal elements, some may be tempted to drop so as not to communicate everything. However, it is compulsory to answer these questions, whether on the web or in writing. The law provides for a sanction in the event of “persistent refusal” of the questioned person, that is to say after relaunch of the town hall by registered letter. Amount of the ticket: 38 euros, therefore.
To avoid this “plum”, it is better to have the calendar in mind. The deadline is set for Saturday, February 15 in cities of less than 10,000 inhabitants in mainland France, in the Antilles and Guyana and on Saturday February 22 in the other municipalities. In Reunion and Mayotte, the deadlines are set for Saturday 1er and March 8. After these dates, a formal notice will therefore be addressed. Unanswered after this revival, the mayor may then ask the police court to apply the sanction. However, INSEE notes that around 97% of respondents answer the questionnaire each year.
