Bloodborne 60 FPS mode blocked by Sony

Sony sent a DMCA notification to 60 FPS mode developed for Bloodborne. Mode was requested to remove the internet.

Fromsoftware’s cult game Bloodbornethanks to a admirable 60 FPS mode, it has offered a more fluent experience for years. However, Sony sent a DMCA notification to Lance McDonald, the creator of the mode, on the grounds of copyright violation, and demanded that the mode be removed from the internet. McDonald, on January 31, announced that he had to remove all the connections he shared for the mode.

Why was Bloodborne mode targeted?

With this mode, which was developed for PlayStation 4 in 2021, Lance McDonald provided the game to work at 60 FPS. Especially because Bloodborne did not have an official performance update or PC version, this mode became very popular among fans. However, Sony’s targeting this mode after many years brought with it speculation that the company has prepared a remaster or re -version of the game.

McDonald said, “Today I received a DMCA notification on behalf of Sony Interactive Entertainment. Therefore, I removed all the links I shared on the Internet. ” he confirmed that the mode is now closed to access. However, since this development is not valid for people who have previously downloaded and using mode, the mode can still continue to be used in the community.

This move of Sony increased the hopes that Bloodborne’s release version or moving to PC is close. However, no official statement was made from Sony. Bloodborne has only been on PlayStation 4 since 2015, and has not been updated for players who want higher performance.

While the fans waited for the game to be presented to a wider audience in the future, the removal of mode was disappointed in a large part of the community. This has once again brought up the strict royalties of major game companies against mod developers.

While Bloodborne is uncertain whether it will receive an official performance update, Sony’s intervention brings questions whether it is a preparation for the potential new versions of the game, or if it is only defending royalties.
