All trans women who are in prison in the United States should be moved to men’s institutions, and no money should go to gender -affirming care for inmates – according to an executive order issued by Donald Trump.

The order has caused concern that transferred transcakes will be subjected to sexual abuse and violence.

Now the order is stopped by a federal judge, after a transfatte sued Trump.

The trans woman, known under the pseudonym Maria Moe, was worried that she would be exposed to great risks if she was moved to a man’s prison, reports Reuters.

According to her lawyers, she would be exposed to “extremely high risk of harassment, abuse, violence and sexual abuse”.

Her case was therefore taken to the Federal Court, via a lawsuit against Donald Trump. Now a judge has raised the case and decided to block the order.

Maria Moe’s lawyer Jennifer Levi calls the decision a relief, and notes that her client is now “remaining until further notice”.

Offensive against “gender ideology” and diversity

As a newly elected president, Donald Trump has chosen to fight what he calls “gender ideology” in US authorities. Some of his first measures were to abolish all federal diversity programs and opportunities to change legal gender.

When Trump issued his order to forced transfers in US prisons, the US Prison Service acted quickly.

They changed Maria Moes registered gender from “woman” to man “, and were about to turn off access to the gender hormones she took since she was a teenager to treat gender dysforin, her lawyers say.

    The stop can be extended

The order is alleged by the lawyers to be discriminatory according to the US Constitution, claiming that it also violates a ban on cruel and unusual punishment.

Several other transgender people in prison have submitted similar moods, which may be further extended.
